Hello there! I am so excited to share this blog post from the Urban Lights with you guys.
Ever since I watched the movie, “No Strings Attached”, with Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman, I have been wanting to visit the “Urban Light” sculpture – I know, I am corny, but this is one of my all time favorite movies. Cool fact: this movie was among the first ones to incorporate this installation into a motion picture.
Besides my silly teenage dream, I do love to explore and learn about art and museums. So visiting this icon was a must for me!
This sculpture is located at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). The Urban Light was created by Chris Burden in 2008 and it’s made out of two hundred and two restored cast iron antique street lamps. Since then, it has become one of the most photographed locations and a Los Angeles icon.
If you ever plan on going, I do recommend going at night. 1. because the lights are on (duh) and 2. try to go as late as possible because it gets very crowded and is hard to get a good shot with all the people around. We went around 10:00 pm and it took us around an hour and a half to get all the shots we wanted.
Moving on to the fashion part. I wore a pretty casual outfit for dinner; I am totally loving this dark green suede jacket. Its very different than what I usually wear but I decided to give it a try and now I want to wear it everyday. Gotta get out a try new things right?
So… I am just so happy with how all the picture came out. I have to give all the credit to my boyfriend/photographer for listening to all my crazy visions and ideas and being able to capture them all. I think we make a pretty good team. I can’t wait to show you guys the rest of our trip.
Thank you for stopping by!
